Poofy Cheeks: Glam Canning Jar Ring Pumpkin

Glam Canning Jar Ring Pumpkin

Glam canning lid ring pumpkin.

Talk about one crazy week - it has been the craziest week ever here at our house! I had plans of sharing some Halloween crafts I have been working on but that didn't happen. My husband went to work Tuesday and that night after dinner he told me he wasn't feeling well. He has diverticulitis and had surgery for it two years ago so he doesn't play around when he gets stomach pains. We went to bed late and then at 3am Wednesday morning he woke me up saying his stomach hurt really bad and he was going to go to the ER. It turns out he had acute appendicitis and they had to schedule an emergency surgery to remove his appendix. I know it is a pretty common thing but it caught us off guard. He came home last night and tonight for the first time since Tuesday I have a chance to sit down and actually breathe!

That was a quick version of the story and now that my husband is okay, home and recovering I am looking back on some of this week's events with laughter and disbelief. My week was really like a sick comedy. During the less than 48 hours Mike was in the hospital I had two sick kids, missed the school bus and when I finally got Mike from the hospital I drove around to 4 different pharmacies before I found one that had his medication in stock!

With the craziness behind me I am excited and ready to share some more glam Halloween decorations I have been working on! I have always loved the canning lid pumpkins and wreaths so I decided to make my version of one. I love how easy it was to make and how it turned out!

Glam Halloween Canning Jar Ring Pumpkin - 30 minute craft

Supplies Needed:
  • Washi Tape
  • Chalk Paint (I used BEHR Sensual Peach latex paint mixed with BB Frosch)
  • 18 canning jar rings
  • 2 pipe cleaners
  • Crazy Glue
  • Rhinestones
Directions:
  1. Cover the sides of the rings in washi tape and/or paint them.
  2. String the rings onto one pipe cleaner and then twist to hold them together. Gently separate the  rings out into a circle.
  3. Fold and twist another pipe cleaner and stick it in the middle of the rings as the stem.
  4. Using crazy glue stick the rhinestones onto the rings.

This project could not have been easier or quicker! With so much going on around here this was exactly the type of craft I needed! My husband says it is too early to decorate for Halloween but I can't see myself storing my new decorations for a few short weeks only to pull them out again.
