Delilah’s 1st Birthday Party–Pink & Gold

Over this past weekend we hosted my son Wyatt’s 6th birthday party and I realized I had never shared pictures from Delilah’s 1st birthday party we hosted at our home in November. The theme for her party was pink and gold and it was so easy to put together a party using just colors! It was a small gathering with just family and a few close friends.

Pink & Gold Birthday Party - Smash Cake

Pink and Gold Birthday Party

Since November is a busy month for me in the shop I bought the cakes and subs from Publix. I was so happy with how the cakes turned out and as always their cakes are delicious! For the decorations I kept it easy with a few balloons, a glittery gold garland I made using my Silhouette Cameo, a chalkboard print I quickly did and had printed at Staples as an engineer print (cost me less than $3), and a display of instagram pictures from each month up until Delilah’s birthday. I used gold washi tape to make flags for the paper straws, made a double batch of pasta salad and ordered cake pops as party favors from Cake Pop Mamas (which were a HUGE hit)!

One of my favorite parts of Delilah’s party was when she opened a Cabbage Patch Doll that she received as a gift and started kissing it! My most favorite part and memory are of her tearing her smash cake UP! That girl can get down on some cake!!

This little lady has changed my life and taught me so many things already – I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

  1. Hi! How did you go about getting the chalkboard printed at Staples? Is that a service they all have? Thank you!

    1. I made the faux chalkboard print and then had it printed at Staple's as an engineer print. (They offer black and white prints at around $2-4 -- perfect for a chalkboard!) They have lots of these which you can customize on ETSY and have printed yourself :)

  2. Hi. Is the smash cake Publix 16oz of rosette cake that is for $11.99??
I am planning to order 16oz Rosette Cake for my girls' smash cakes, and wondering if yours is the same.
    Thank you!

    1. Honestly I can't remember. I asked for a smash cake size at the bakery and I think they said this was a 6 inch cake. I showed them a picture of what I wanted and this is how it turned out :)
