Yesterday we celebrated my middle child, Mason’s, fourth birthday. We had a Wreck it Ralph party complete with an ice cream float stand. Who can resist Edy’s ice cream, A&W root beer and Sunkist on a hot summer day? All of the games and decorations at the party were part of one of the arcade games featured in the movie. For the ice cream float stand we named it ‘Tapper’ just like the arcade game where Ralph goes in search of a gold medal. My dad helped me build the float stand and ice-cream floats proved to be the perfect sweet treat after a 90+ degree day!

Whether you are hosting a Fourth of July shindig at your house or just need a little red, white and blue I have the perfect printables for you today! I’m just stopping in quickly to share them because today is my son’s birthday party and my floors need mopping, toilets need scrubbing, food needs preparing! I admit I usually turn into party-zilla when we host parties at our house, but I tried doing as much as I could in advance and I am determined to stay in a good mood the entire day!

I used to wear skirts all of the time. Then I had kids. Bending down to wipe noses, pick them up, or chase after them didn’t work well in a skirt. Slowly I got rid of them (and my high heels) until there were no more. Now I have Delilah and dressing her up in cute little dresses inspired me to buy a few skirts and dresses again. I don’t wear them a lot and I like them to be on the longer side, but skirts bring out the feminine side. While searching through the Storenvy Marketplace I found a few more skirts that I wouldn’t mind putting in my closet. I will just admire them for now because I don’t know where I would ever wear most of them too. I think I might get odd stares if I tried wearing them to library day, walks around the neighborhood or trips to the park with my kids.
Did your style change when you had kids? Please tell me I am not the only one who is wearing pajamas or yoga pants 90% of the time.

My family and I live in Florida where having a pool in your backyard is as common as living up north and having a fireplace in your living room. Last Spring my parents bought a new house with a pool. They live about eight miles away from us, so we head over there often in the hot summer months. Last year when we first started swimming over there my boys couldn’t swim at all and now they are jumping in the deep end all by themselves and swimming down to touch the drain at the bottom. If we head five minutes in another direction we run right into the beach. Every other Sunday when my husband is working the kids, my parents and I go to the beach for the afternoon.
Naturally Delilah, 7 months old, has become quite the beach babe. She loves the water and every time we have dunked her under she has yet to cry! We squeeze her chubby cheeks and swim diaper into her suit and she looks so adorable.
The hardest thing about going to the beach or pool this summer has been packing the swim bag. Last summer I was pregnant with Delilah and both boys grabbed their trunks and towels and we were off. This year I have a baby to pack for and lug around again. I have to remember a few Huggies Little Swimmer diapers, wipes if there is a mess, dry diapers for when we are done, sun screen, snacks, goggles and the list goes on. With Delilah still being so little keeping a swim diaper on her has been a must! The last thing I want is for her to cause a code ‘brown’ in my parents pool or be holding her while she does it at the beach or pool. Huggies Little Swimmers have saved us on numerous occasions which is why I am excited to share a Target $1.50 off coupon with you today! You can get your coupon HERE. I love finding coupons for must-have items and I hope you do to! (Plus any excuse to stop in at Target makes my day!)
Now that you know our Summer Must-Have – what is yours?

I am a mom. I don’t get to go shopping very often and if I do my budget is limited. When I DO get to go shopping for myself I try to pick things that are versatile. I look for staple pieces that can be dressed up or down. A few weeks ago I had the chance to shop the Kardashian line at Sears. As a reality show junkie I admit I watch the show if it is on after my kids are in bed. Out of Khloe, Kim, and Kourtney I like Kourtney’s sense of style the most. She is always dressed in something comfortable yet professional looking and out of the three sisters she is always dressed the most conservative. Today I am showing you how I took a dress purchased from the Kardashian line and how I plan to pair it with items I already have to wear it four different ways.
The dress itself is a dark gray with black trim and cap sleeves. I was super lucky because the Kardashian line was marked down to 40% off or more while I was shopping so it cost me $30. I bought it for a family reunion we have in Georgia this weekend. I needed it to be casual and made from a light fabric since it has been really hot. Since I had a baby seven months ago I have a bit of a pouch that I was also looking to hide. This dress has a detail that draws your eye away from the pouch and once I tried it on I knew it was the one.
Look #1 is the most casual. I just paired the dress with casual wedge flip flops and put a headband on to keep my hair off of my face. This is how I plan to wear the dress to our family reunion this weekend. Simple enough!
For look #2 I have on a pair of flats and a scarf. This dresses up the outfit and I can see myself wearing this to an interview, church, or even out to lunch.
Look #3 is my favorite! I added a pop of color by putting on a chunky aqua necklace and a see through aqua shirt. This is my favorite look of the four and screams SUMMER. I would wear this on a date night with my husband and since both of our birthdays are next month I know I will be pairing it all up again soon!
Look #4 is the most dressed up of the four outfits. I traded the see through shirt for a black blazer and a skinny leopard belt. If you work in an office you could start out with this look and take the blazer off to go straight from work to a party or out for a few Friday night cocktails with the girls. This look is pretty Kourtney-esque if you ask me!
To see all of the outfits I tried on during my shopping trip to Sears you can see the album HERE. Overall I was really surprised at how flattering the clothes were – they were made for girls with curves in mind!

Our summer has been flying by! I have been creating and crafting, but I can’t share it with you yet. I am creating decorations for Mason’s Wreck it Ralph birthday party which is in less than two weeks away now. It has been hard coming up with ideas since Wreck it Ralph is fairly new and there aren’t many other parties to use as inspiration. I have watched the movie three times in the past two weeks and I finally have the vision in my head. When I haven’t been working on that I have been working on orders, selling on GroopDealz (where I am selling today!), or spending time with my family. I admit blogging is one of the things I decided I will do if I have extra time throughout the day, but I am not going to get upset if I don’t get a chance to blog everyday this summer.
Spending time with my family has really taken over. All I can think about is that Wyatt is going to be in kindergarten in August! I just want to cry or tell him he can’t go. What happened to my baby? The thought of sending him to school for the whole day makes my heart ache, so I am trying to get in as much time every day as I possibly can. I even went down the slip in slide with the boys a few times the other day. Then I asked my husband what was so fun about that thing when we were kids? The ground hurts!
One thing we love to do in the summer months is grill out. My husband might disagree with me because he has to be outside in the heat cooking, but there is nothing better than a delicious steak and veggies after a long summer day.
When we got married and bought our first grill it took Mike a while to get the hang out cooking on it. He really paid attention to my dad when we would go to their house for dinner, and in the beginning he could never cook them quite right. The steak would either be very well done or still mooing. Once he perfected that he started working on seasoning them. Hands down his steaks are just as good as Long Horn or Outback now.
I tried to get a good picture of them once they were finished but the sun was starting to set – so this is the best one I had.
The secret steak seasoning isn’t so secret anymore! To season his steaks he uses minced garlic, Everglade seasoning and Montreal steak seasoning. He uses his hands or the back of a spoon to rub it all over the steaks. When the grill is hot and ready and puts them on and they come off tasting amazing! He loves it, I love it and our kids can’t get enough.Enjoy,

Last year I had a co-worker ask me to create printables for her daughter’s wedding that matched the invitations. The invitations were a modern gray and yellow. - If you post pictures on the web which include the printables it must have a link back to my blog.
