Back to School Treat Bucket

A few days ago I shared a printable teacher ‘Thank You’ tag I plan to give Wyatt’s teacher at ‘meet the parent night’ and promised to show the bucket I attached it to. I think I might like the way the bucket turned out even more than the printable! I found a paper mache paint bucket at Michael’s and it reminded me of a treat canister my 6th grade teacher had. When students got an A on a test they could pick a candy from the bucket. Back to School Teacher Treat Bucket

After picking up the bucket I also bought some ABC ribbon, paint and a package of handwriting practice slips. I painted the lid of the bucket with Martha Stewart chalkboard paint and the bucket with red paint. After the red paint dried I painted the entire bucket with mod podge and attached the handwriting slip using mod podge too. When the chalkboard paint dried I seasoned it and wrote the kindergarten teacher’s name on top. I used a sharpie pen to write ‘kindergarten’ on the practice slip. For the finishing touches I tied on some of the ribbon and the printable thank you tag and filled the bucket with Smarties.
