Living Room Details–Budget Redo

Did you see our living room before and after post I did yesterday? My favorite part of our living room has to be these picture ledges! I purchased the wood and took it to my dad along with the Ana White photo ledge plan. I {okay – my dad} followed her plan but we made two four foot ledges instead of one long eight foot ledge. Cost = $5 for the wood and I already had the stain, nails and screws.

I used frames that we already had and were collecting dust in our garage along with a few I purchased from Walmart (the cheap $3-$5 ones). The ‘love’ printable was free from Kiki Creates, the wine bottle was free from a local restaurant that saved them for me, and the ‘family’ canvas was made using vinyl and spray paint like I did HERE.

I am still surprised by the impact this wall has each time I walk past.

The trunk and Pepsi bin were thrifted. You can see the trunk redo HERE. The curtains were on clearance for $6 a panel at Target last month and I picked up the accent pillows on the couch from the Better Homes and Garden collection at Walmart.

The dresser under out TV was a $7 Goodwill find (details here), the window above the cradle was a Craigslist find (details here), the small desk is an antique given to me by my dad that I refinished and the saw and mason jars above the TV were thrifted.

Moral of the story – who says you have to break the bank to create a space you love? It might take a bit longer, but you can create a room on a budget if you just hold out for the perfect clearance or thrift find!

Enjoy,
