Alphabet Garland Wall Decor

I’m stopping in to share a quick tutorial with you today! As if things haven’t been crazy enough with moving and birthdays, my husband was diagnosed with diverticulitis and has been in the hospital the past few days. We are praying that he will get out today!
Today I am showing you some alphabet décor I put together for the boys’ new room using a printable I found in the ETSY shop Snappy Printables. Before we moved one boy had Thomas the Train and the other had a transportation theme, so since they are sharing a room now I decided to go with something neutral that will grow with them for the next few years. Wyatt is 4 1/2 and Mason just turned 3 – so when I found an alphabet pillow at Target I knew that I wanted to do letters and numbers as the main focus of the room. In a few years I can easily change out the alphabet décor for something more grown up.

Heather from Snappy Printables was super kind and changed out the pink letters from her overlapping letter listing to a blue and it works perfectly!
To make the garland I took the printable file from Snappy Printables to Staples and had them print it onto the heaviest matte white cardstock they had. Then I purchased mini binder clips from Wal-Mart and found some of the jute string I had on hand. (The printables come with cutting guidelines and there are four letters per page making them 4.25×5.5 inches each.)

This is what the room looked like before the letter garland. A little barren and plain.

This is the after – much better! With less than $8 I was able to totally transform this wall into something fun, educational, and colorful.

I am also loving the magnetic alphabet board I created for the boys. I found it originally had it in one of my boards on Pinterest, but the original source is here. The oil drip pan, flash cards, and magnets were purchased for less than $13 at Wal-Mart. Yes… an oil drip pan from the automotive section.

Now do you want to see the rest of the room… a glimpse of real life here in our home this week! This was literally what was going on throughout all of these photos. No – I don’t live a life of perfection and organization (at least not on a regular basis)!!
