My Neighbor Gifts–Homemade Kahlua

I have three sweet sets of neighbors. When they decided to have a neighborhood garage sale this year they came knocking to ask if I wanted to participate too. They always wave. One of them has invited me over to take furniture she was getting rid of. We have often asked one of them to keep an eye on the house when we go out of town, and she lost her husband a few months ago to cancer – so I thought that these would be a nice little gift and gesture.

Kahlua and cream is a nice after dinner drink and so I thought it was perfect. I didn’t want anything too crazy since my neighbors are in their 50s and 60s.

Here is how you make the Kahlua- Click on the image to get the PDF.

It is SO easy – it just takes a little time. I made this while we were watching a movie. I used the Ball 8 oz. jelly jars and this recipe makes enough to fill all 12 jars plus a large canning jar. I’m keeping the large jar in our refrigerator.

On the back of the gift tags I put how to mix the Kahlua – ‘Fill glass with ice. Fill glass 1/3 of the way with Kahlua and then pour in half and half the remainder of the way. Then Stir.’ That is at least how I drink it – tweak it if you would like!

To package the jars for gifting – I used a paper doily I found at the supermarket (Publix to be exact), twine, and a gift tag.
