Fabric Flower Wreath Tutorial

So I finally broke down and tried the fabric flowers. I may be a little late on this trend, but I love it. Once again no sewing – just me and my weapon of choice! The glue gun!

I am apologizing for the lighting in some of these pictures as it was way past my bed time when I made this wreath – and there was no natural sunlight.

I don’t really decorate the house too much for St. Patrick’s Day. We just wear green and go to my mom’s house for corn beef and cabbage. Yum!

This year I decided I would make a wreath in observance of leprechauns, pots of gold, and rainbows, but I made it so that after St. Patty’s day I can remove the green and add something different for Easter. Here is how I made the wreath- I gathered together some scraps of fabric, scissors, glue gun, small wreath form, and a large wreath I bought at Michael’s with my 40% off coupon.

Here is the large wreath-

If you are like me and have never made a rolled fabric flower it is SO simple. Just cut a strip of fabric. The longer the fabric the bigger the flower.

Then make a knot at one end. From there start twisting and gluing the fabric around the knot.

Then I took my small wreath form and wrapped it in strips of left over muslin. Of course I secured the fabric with my handy dandy glue gun!

Hot glued the flowers to the small wreath form-

and then I tied the small wreath form to the big wreath using burlap. I also wrapped some green tulle around it. Nice and green! After St. Patrick’s Day I can just untie the small wreath form, unwrap the tulle, and add some pastels to the wreath for Easter!
