We are back from Disney. I wish I could say we had a magical time, but our trip was quite a nightmare.
We got in a car accident on the way there. Our truck hydroplaned and hit a concrete center wall. Both airbags deployed, but we are so thankful that nobody was hurt. Mike and I are just experiencing some chest and back pain from the impact. We truly have guardian angels! The boys were watching Toy Story on their DVD players, and were barely phased. Mike wanted to turn around and come home after that, but I convinced him to go forth with our plans. We had the truck towed to the body shop, and my sister and father-in-law picked us up and took us to a rental car place (luckily we were only about 30 minutes from their house). We were back on the road in less than two hours. I felt that if we would have gone back home then we would sit and sulk. Plus, the boys were too pumped about seeing Mickey! In the end, Mike and I were both glad we still went.
The rest of the trip went pretty well besides for one night when Mason was over tired, teething, and a big ball of cranky baby! We did a character meal at Chef Mickey’s and we were so disappointed. (Let me say that we have never ever been disappointed with any sit-down meal before!) The service, food selection, and food was just not what we have come to expect. Maybe because the night before we had one of the best meals ever at the Captain’s Grill.
Luckily, our vacation week is not over. We are home today and doing laundry. We will be packing up again tonight to send the boys with their grandparents so Mike and I can set sail to the Bahamas!
