I woke up on Saturday morning feeling pretty thrifty. Since Mike was at work, the boys and I headed to Goodwill. I walked out spending $11. I got everything pictured below plus a child’s suitcase that Wyatt just couldn’t live without. (Did I mention that he wants to take it everywhere we go, filled with Thomas toys, and makes me put it in the trunk? LOL!)
Now I have seen some really cool dinner menu’s for planning out each week’s meal. I instantly knew I wanted to do something like that with the frame.
BEFORE
I took out the picture and glass then spray painted the frame on my ‘spray painting tree’. As you can tell I have used it a time or two before!
Then I created grid with the days of the week on my computer and printed it onto solid turquoise/blue cardstock. I used a lighter color to print out ‘Sapp Family Menu’. Then I put the glass back into the frame and arranged the papers and a piece of ribbon - using tape to secure them.
I then placed the back onto the frame and turned it around to find this…

I consider this one successful transformation! Now I can use my chalk markers on the glass and wipe it clean each week. I’m linking up over at Craft-o-Maniac, These Creative Juices, A Diamond in the Stuff and I Love Naptime!
BTW – Here is my menu for this week!
- Monday – Baked Potato Soup
- Tuesday – Steak with broccoli salad
- Wednesday – Peas and Cheese Tortellini
- Thursday – Fiesta Chicken Chowder
- Friday – FFY (Fend For Yourself (cause this momma has to work!!))
- Saturday – Honey Goat Cheese Chicken by Paula Deen
- Sunday – SUPER BOWL!
Come back tomorrow to see how I used some other goodwill finds and Target dollar spot items to create a Valentine’s entryway!
